Training

With vehicle systems becoming increasingly complex the importance of training has never been as important. With this in mind Autodiagnos Ltd believes that dedicated training courses will benefit technicians using the Multi-Tester Pro and allow it to be used to its full potential.

New Training Program From Autodiagnos

We are entering an age where we expect to find electronic controls behind just about every part of today’s cars. Electronics are no longer limited to power train, security, climate control and infotainment systems. It has been estimated that electronics account for 25% of the bill of materials for a modern car with applications growing all the time. We have reached the stage where every repair shop needs some diagnostic capability, whether in-house or outsourced to a local specialist or mobile guy. With an ever increasing number of jobs involving vehicle electronics, more and more garage businesses are having to take the plunge and buy a diagnostic scan tool.

For the diagnostic rookie the choice of tool can now be an overwhelming one. There are now so many scan tools on the market at varying price and capability it is important to know what you are getting into to make sure that you make the right investment. After all, you wouldn’t hire a mechanic and give him a set of spanners without any training would you?

The more powerful diagnostic handsets will of course give you much more capability, requiring a more expert technician. Expertise is created from a combination of training and experience. Experience will come with time, but appropriate training is vital even for the simplest of scan tools. If the technician does not understand the operation of the system under test then there is little hope of applying a logical evaluation of observed data and the identification of additional tests required to find a fault. At best, time will be wasted making the wrong guesses and even worse the wrong parts may be replaced before the correct repair is made. In short – if you are new to diagnostics, you are going to need some training, so you would be well advised to make that your first step.

Autodiagnos have announced a range of courses aimed at both the beginner and the more advanced technician.

One Day Course:

Serial Diagnostics/Using ‘Scan Tools’ is a one day course aimed at starter technician and aims to develop skills that will enable them to problem solve and achieve correct diagnostic outcome using a ‘code reader’.

Two Day Course:

Other courses for the more skilled technician which are run over 2 days includes Engine Diagnostics, and a specific Engine Management course.  The Engine Diagnostics course will provide an in-depth knowledge of engine test requirements and will explain the underpinning technology to enable diagnosis of engine faults.  The Engine Management course aims to provide technicians with an in-depth knowledge of engine management systems with the emphasis placed upon understanding and testing the components that make up those systems and to explain the key technology to enable diagnosis of engine faults.
