Frequently Asked Questions - Renault
There are occasions when it is necessary to have the ignition 'ON' without the engine running to perform diagnostic sequences, this is not straight forward on the Megane II models. The method we have found to work is as follows:
1. Unlock the car with the remote (Card).
2. Insert card in to the card reader
3. Without pressing the brake or clutch pedal you must push and hold the 'START' button for 5 to 10 seconds. When the dash illuminates you can release the button. When you have finished the diagnostic sequence it is better to press and release the 'START' button once more (Clutch or Brake 'ON') to run the engine, then 'STOP' the engine.
We have checked the tyre monitor system and have found a function that was originally missed off the software that allows the wheel set to be swapped. This has been added on version 4.23 of the Renault application.
Yes, we have added this function to version 4.23 of the Renault application.
When the Renault application determines which ECU is fitted to a vehicle we attempt communications using several different Multi-Cable configurations. When the Multi-Cable is configured the ignition must be ‘off’ otherwise the Multi-Cable will not be configured correctl
